Clinical Pathology and Cytology

Clinical pathology and cytology are part of the laboratory medicine area that spans across Gävleborg County. Here, tissue and cell samples are analyzed digitally and under the microscope to provide the treating physician with the necessary information for managing the patient's illness. The unit also conducts autopsy and mortuary services. We are an accredited operation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist physician/senior physician with us, you will be part of a medical team consisting of four senior physicians, three specialists, and two residents.

As a specialist/senior physician with us, you will work with:

• ward rounds
• digital pathology
• autopsies and dissections on a rotating schedule
• developing the competence of the operation.

In the role of specialist physician/senior physician, you must:

• be a specialist in clinical pathology.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have cytology and dermatology as specialist competencies.
